Waterproof tents are made from a range of advanced waterproof fabrics and are the first choice for family camping, hiking, rock climbers, Military etc. The tents are designed and fabricated in a way through which water can run off easily and all sewn seams are specially heat seal tapped to prevent the ingress of water through the seams and ground sheets.
Typical Materials used
- Nylon: Strong, light weight. Nylon is especially treated to make waterproof tents either totally waterproof or breathable-waterproof. Some tents are made of nylon with a polyurethane coating and can be seam taped.
- Polyvinyl chloride (PVC): A traditional coating although heavy PVC fabrics are quite tough. This fabric is easily seam tape able.
- Polyurethane: A very common form of coating used in vast variety of weights of nylon again easily seam taped.
- Breathable coatings: The coating is directly applied to the inside of the fabric and has an advantage of less cost. We can supply a range of seam tapes to suit.
